Professor Steven Katz, chairman of the Religion Department, may have a sharply honed, aggressive, witty, incisive mind ― but he also possesses Dartmouth's most cluttered office. Maybe the achievement has something to do with his interest in mysticism. When our photographer went to take this picture, she asked Katz if he was in the process of moving. "No," he said, "just tidying up."
