From George "Doc" McBride came an interesting letter in which he recalls his father taking him to games in Hanover. Among the players he remembered were Jesse Hawley; Jack Ingersoll and Curtis, both punters; Clarke Tobin; Rich; and Jack Marks, a fullback. Then Doc recovered from an operation.
Doc enclosed a picture of his family gathering on his and Mary's golden anniversary. Among them was the daughter, Smith summa cum laude, who has been appointed head of the appeals division of the National Labor Relations Board.
Ethel Barr expressed Stump Barr's appreciation for the class birthday card. They celebrated the day at Stump's Brookside Nursing Home in White River Junction. While Ed Felt and Chet Hulbert were at Alumni College, they visited Stump. Ethel has seen Pat Stoddard a couple of times and finds her doing very well following her loss of George.
Minetta Morey continues to live in the house she and Syl bought in the Berkshires. It is a community of friends with a supervisory board which in general directs the use and management of the properties. She is always glad to read class notes and "The Roar."
Lois Morse reports she entertained at a mini-reunion with "Red" Hulbert, his niece, and Ed Felt in Hanover for Alumni College as they, Ethel Barr, and Pat Stoddard came for cocktails.
Dick White and Marian may not go to Colorado Springs for the opening of the new performing arts center for which their daughter raised over six and a half million dollars. He doubts if the 6,200-feet altitude would be good for his repaired aneurysm. He also reports that our next reunion will be June 13-15, 1983. He will send details to all.
Mildred Fish expressed appreciation for the photos of her Bob sent to her. She is happy to report that all goes well with her and the lovely family of seven grandchildren, two of which are married. She would welcome any 1918 visitor at Palo Alto.
Barbara Hood recalls the 1918 fun times we all had together. This summer she went to Alaska with her oldest daughter and her doctor husband and four of their children.
Ann (Jasper) Johnston has moved to Menden, N.J., to be near her Gordon and his family of five sons. She spent January through March at Pompano Beach, Fla., where she visited relatives and friends.
Howie Park flew north for a visit at Cranford, N.J., which he thoroughly enjoyed. Even paddled a canoe on the river.
