The class of 1928's mini-reunion on October 1 and 2 began with a meeting of nine class officers and ten members of the executive committee. President George Davis called for reports from all officers and from Curly Prosser and John Phillips, who described the plans for the 55th reunion on June 13, 14, and 15, 1983. The class will be housed in the Tuck Mall dormitory, where there is ample parking and a bathroom for every two rooms, a great improvement over Massachusetts Hall which was headquarters for our 50th. Special efforts will be made to encourage the attendance of widows at the reunion. You will receive a letter from the reunion committee with full details.

President Davis also announced that the class had three guests: Marjorie Rockwell, LauraSadler, and Charles Dickinson III '68, son of the late Frances and Charlie Dickinson.

After dinner at the Norwich Inn, 43 went to Mimi and Herb Sensenig's home-a tradition started 16 years ago. The fall mini-reunion was started 21 years ago.

Although Colgate won the game the next day, the weather was perfect and the beautiful foliage was at its peak. Attendance at the '2B dinner at the Norwich Inn set a record of 55. President Davis extended a warm welcome to the newest member of the class, Red Edgar's bride Nancy. They were married September 11 she was Nancy Van Roosen and has two Dartmouth relatives, a brother and an uncle. Jerry and Rachel Sass and Tavey and Lou Taylor, both of California, got a hand for com- ing the greatest distance. The class presented gifts to Herb and Mimi Sensenig to show its appreciation of their hospitality; they left Octo- ber 6 for Budapest for a two-week visit with Mimi's sister and brother-in-law. Art Kneerim will carry the names of those at the mini-reunion in the newsletter; secretaries have space limitations which Art doesn't face.

Finally, it was voted that the next minireunion be held October 7 and 8, 1983, the weekend of the William and Mary game.

In our June and October issues we listed four '28ers who had told us about Dartmouth grandchildren: C.C. Hart, Roger Sundeen,Hammie Hammesfahr, and Charley Proctor. And in the March 1982 issue of the MAGAZINE we ran a picture of three generations of Mortons Bill Morton Sr., his son William G. '59, and his son Andy '85. In addition, after the '28 dinner at the mini-reunion, Ollie andDolly Andrus introduced us to their grandson, Bruce Andrus '83. So the list of Dartmouth grandchildren has grown to six three girls and three boys. Any more?

We had a nice visit in Binghamton, N.Y., with Phil McLaughlin in his office at the Home Mutual Life Insurance Company, of which he is president. He and Bonneau also have a summer home in Chatham, Mass. Phil said his close friend, attorney Sam Magavern, had a heart attack last December, but it hasn't slowed him down. Sam "still goes all over, to Japan and other countries, and hasn't retired. Red and Fonty Sanborn wrote: "We will be at the 55th. We have had great trips this year, usually to good birding areas, but that takes us to some of the most beautiful areas in the world. This year to Bonaventure Island off the Gaspe Peninsula, Bermuda, the Fame Islands in the North Sea, the Outer Hebrides, and our annual trip to the Outer Banks and parts of Florida that are off the beaten track. We usually get back in time for spring skiing. Between trips there is firewood to cut and the garden to take care of in Kennebunkport. I am still active in various conservation agencies. Plenty to do!"

Doug Pease is sorry not to be able to come to the 55th. He says: "Lilla is our driver and particularly after a busted arm 50 miles is a good distance for her...Impaired vision and complications stemming from arthritis now make trips impractical."

Gordon Adams of Benton Harbor, Mich., writes that Blanche and he plan to come to the 55th. They will go first to visit their three children in Connecticut and New York, and to St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., from which Blanche graduated 51 years ago.
