Better pull out the atlas to follow the activities of former Ledyard Canoe Club member Wickliffe Walker, who, along with Eric Evans '72 and four other hardies of the American Himalayan kayak descent team, paddled in the kingdom of Bhutan October 21-31, 1981. After six years of negotiations to be the first group of canoers and kayakers to enter the country, first opened to westerners in 1973, the team made the first descents of the Thimpu, Paro, Fo, and Amo rivers, which drop over 100 feet per mile, on their way to India. What a ride!

A check-up on John "Jack" Meehan, finds him and Pam and their two boys (and another child due in February) in Hartford, where he has been the associate executive director of Hartford Hospital since December 1981. In this capacity, he is responsible for administering, directing, and coordinating all operations of the hospital. What a challenge! Jack came to Hartford Hospital in 1979 following a five-year stint as vice president of Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington, Vt. Prior to his current position he served as an assistant director, responsible for many departments of Hartford Hospital. Congratulations and best wishes in your new position! Have you got those boys of yours on skates yet?

Don Miller started the year with a bang with publication of his latest book The Book ofJargon (Macmillan). Also look for articles by Don in Working Woman and Runners World and note that "A State of Grace," originally published in the Atlantic Monthly in September 1980, was one of six finalists for the 1980 National Magazine Award.

Skip Stech works for Mitre Corporation in the D.C. area and in the arena of military communications systems. He has given his son Matt a taste of the College, having taken him to Tim Cohane's basketball camp for the past two years. This also afforded Skip the opportunity to spend three days at Merrill Brook Cabin in the College Grant and an evening at Moosilauke, and to catch up on old times with Professors Tom Tighe and John Lanzetta of the Psychology Department.

This past August, Bill Green was married to Rebecca MacMillan Fox in Ithaca, N. Y. Rebecca receied both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Bryn Mawr College, where she has been academic dean, a part-time lecturer in French, and a candidate for a Ph.D. in French literature. Bill has been associate professor and chair of the program in religious studies at the University of Rochester. They plan to spend the 1981-82 academic year in Oxford, England, where Bill is the R. T. French visiting fellow at Worcester College, Oxford University, and Rebecca will complete her doctoral research.

Paul Rizzi, a vice president of Indian Head National Bank of Nashua, N.H., is enjoying his work as branch manager of the Salem office and is in pursuit of an M.B. A. at the University of New Hampshire on a part-time basis. This requires considerable stamina indeed, and Paul rose to the occasion by quitting smoking and simultaneously starting to run (up to five miles) and play raquetball. Says Paul, "There's no way you can run and smoke! Try it, it's a physical and mental high!" Last fall, he was looking forward to the 9.2-mile Block Island race and the forthcoming ski season, which I'm sure has met the expectations of many in the East. Among friends he has seen over the past year are Tom and Wendy Enright and Dave Sides '67.
