Welcome back! Your scribe writes you from several thousand feet up, on the quickie flight between NYC and Boston. Plenty of news.
The birthrate may be down somewhere, but the prolific antics of our Class appear to have nothing to do with it. Paul and Barbara Rizzi announced their first, Paul C. Rizzi III or "Trip" as his friends call him. Father Rizzi witnessed the event in April, and still works with Indian Head Bank of Laconia while Barb is an office supervisor with "Ma Bell." They love their location in Meredith, N.H. Line and SusanEldredge announced the arrival of their second daughter Emily Jane, who arrived in June. The Eldredge clan must be moved to Dallas by this time, where Line will be vice president of marketing for Northrup, Inc. He will be primarily concerned with penetrating the solar energy market. Line was previously manager of the college department at Doubleday.
On to academia. Doug Coulson is working on a doctorate in Psychology at U. Mass., Amherst, and also teaches statistics and educational psychology. Doug was awarded a National Institute of Mental Health Fellowship to study problems in evaluating social programs, and planned a Rocky Mountain hiking trip in August. He considers himself not a "swinging single" but a happy single, and I am sure we can all agree with your indication of thankfulness, Doug, that the war in Vietnam is over. Why don't you come down to Columbia B-School, help me with my statistics and evaluate my mental health so I can be a happy single instead of swinging from a shingle?
Sherwood Guernsey graduated cum laude from Antioch Law School in May. Prior to law school, Sher found time to teach high school math, marry Carol Chuckrow, spend two years in Panama with the Peace Corps, attend Wharton Business School, and have a daughter, with Carol's help, of course. The Guernseys may be found in West Chester, Pa., where Sher accepted a position with the Legal Aid Society.
Bill Ferrier is leading an active life as a mild mannered I.R.S. tax auditor in San Jose, Calif. To get away from it all, or into it all, as the case may be, he led a rafting trip for an American Youth Hostel Club of which he is both a member and publicity director. Bill was on T.V. in March as part of an international folk dance exhibition, is still active in tournament bridge, and teaches sensory awareness at a nearby experimental university. He had occasion to discuss business with his old roomie Paul Boymel, an I.R.S. lawyer involved in issuing new housing credit regulations. Paul and his wife were anticipating a move to their new home in Rockvilie, Md., in July and the arrival of a child in August ... busy summer!
Speaking of courses, would you like to be able to relax in the face of danger, learn haw to apply total energy when striking, kicking, or throwing? Learn how to coordinate your breathing, sharpen your awareness, and how to avoid being hit, perhaps learn to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Well don't lift weights, because Don Miller has come up with a "truly practical system of protecting oneself from harm" and is teaching his "Bodymind Self Defense" at the Joy of Movement Center in Cambridge, Mass. I think we could use your talents here in New York, Don!
Lastly, John Spritzler tied the knot in June with Constance Egan. The Spritzlers celebrated in Nantucket and are settled in Jamacia Plain, Mass. Keep the news coming, my address should be stable for about a year.
