Football coach Joe Yukica completed his 1984 coaching staff with the hiring of Don Brown, Dennis Kayser and Craig Cason. Brown, defensive coordinator at Mansfield (Pa.) State College, will coach the Big Green's defensive secondary this fall. He returns to Dartmouth where he was a part-time assistant coach in 1982. Earlier he was the defensive coordinator at nearby Hartford High in White River Junction, Vermont from 1977-81. Brown, 28, is a graduate of Norwich University where he captained the football team in 1976 and was named MVP.
Kayser, an assistant at Lafayette for the past three years, will direct the linebackers. The 1974 Ithaca College graduate earned a master's degree from Albany State in 1975. A former football and lacrosse standout at Ithaca, Kayser coached the offensive backs, linebackers and defensive ends while at Lafayette. He spent three years at Springfield as an assistant football and head lacrosse coach.
Cason, the assistant offensive line coach at Maine, will handle Dartmouth's defensive line. Cason worked toward a master's degree in public administration as a graduate assistant at Maine. A four-year letterman at Howard University, he received his bachelor's degree last year.
