Shouldering the disappointment of a 3-23 season, George Crowe resigned as Dartmouth's men's hockey coach in late February. Crowe's tenure has seen the best of times and the worst of times in Dartmouth hockey history. His 1979 and 1980 teams boasted Ivy League championships, runner-up finishes in ECAC hockey, and third-place finishes in the NCAA Championship. His 1983-84 team, however, is shadowed with the worst record in school history.

"I think they made too big a fuss when I came here, and I think there's too much fuss now that I'm leaving," said Crowe. "The time has come for me to do something new. I've been in coaching for 25 years now, and maybe it's time for a change."

Searches for Crowe's replacement, plus three assistant football coaches and a women's basketball coach to fill Wielgus' shoes, were ongoing through out the month of March.
