At graduation this year our class will be two years old, in Dartmouth years. That's about 24 for you and me. That's not to say that the years since Dartmouth have been the dog years of my life, but life at Dartmouth was just a bit easier. I would much rather pay my book bill than my rent, and although Thayer was not my idea of gourmet, it sure beats the idea of going grocery shopping.

Enough of the nostalgia. Let's talk about 1985. John O'Connor completed a year of teaching disturbed adolescents and resigned earlier this year. He is now working part time as a real estate "gofer" while he waits for acceptance into either Rice University, Tulane, or Boston College, where he will pursue an M.B. A. Susie Campbell is studying at the University of California-Berkeley. Previously, Susie had been studying Chinese story-telling in Beijing. Laura Stein, who was also in Beijing, is now at Harvard Law.

Timothy Geithner is studying international relations with an emphasis on Asia at Johns Hopkins University. Also, Tim is to be married to Carol Sonnenfeld in June.

Stacey Henderson is in Beijing. Kevin Lane and Davin McKenzie are in Taiwan. JustinRudelson has been located in China, and he writes, "As far as my social life goes, I'm fine. I've been seeing a woman from (get this) Madagascar."

I received a letter from Steve Lane, presently of San Francisco. He writes, "I think the postman throws away all those green postcards I sent East. I just wanted to drop a note that Steve Lane '83 will be marrying Lelia Banevius '84 in San Francisco in June of 1985. That's all." Thanks, Steve, for the letter, and if I had been the recipient of those green cards, I would have printed it earlier. However, all my mail from my classmates is probably eaten by my postman or his. wife. (I am sure it is too much mail for just one person to consume.)

Gerard Kelly was able to get a letter to me (I guess the postman doesn't eat all California mail). Gerard is at Stanford Law School, along with Gary Allen, Davis Beller, and Chris Fahland. He alleges that they all are behaving themselves. I guess Gerard should behave himself because he will be married this September to Eileen McChesney, who is also a student at the law school. Jay Alexander is tying the knot as well, a month earlier, to Jill Sprung (Smith '83). Gerry sends his regards to Broadway.

Speaking of Broadway, we have several classmates pursuing, careers in the dramatic arts. Patrick Sams, Julie Mueller, and Ji Sterling are among a number of Dartmouth types in New York doing what they enjoy most. I am not sure what they are doing now, but I wish'them luck.

Jennifer Peters, - according to reliable sources, has contracted writer's cramp. David Letterman has also contracted this disease. What a coincidence!

Well folks, I am not sure if I will be writing to you in September; however, I am sure someone will be writing the class notes, so don't despair. I will be traveling this summer and starting business school in the fall. Once I have an address, I will inform you where to write. So, until next year.

The class of 1983 won the Class-of-the-Year Award for classes less than 25 years out of College. The class was cited for holding four mini-reunions; achieving 80 percent dues participation; publishing six class newsletters; having 89 percent participation on the Alumni Fund; and maintaining excellent class communications. The citation predicted "great things yet to come from this spirited class."
