Given my present state of mid-terms and lack of information, I am proud to present Sarah Reynold's letter from California, written earlier this year:
"Such notables as Eddie Lear, PaulGignac, Bob Teeter, and E.J. Kelly have been turning UCLA Law School upside down. Bob Teeter especially deserves a rouse for his superb accomplishments. Bob was one of two national finalists who made it onto the national moot court team, which means he presented a case in front of Supreme Court Justice Byron White (I think it was Byron White, it may have been one of the others). At any rate, he's really hot stuff at UCLA.
"Up north of here people are making waves as well. At Stanford, Gerard Kelly just finished year number two at the Law School. Gerard was so excited about it that he decided to get married. The wedding was in September, the bride is a fellow law student. Also at Stanford is Davies Beller in the J.D.-M.B.A. program. Joining him at the business school in the fall will be Sue Thornton and MikeFish. Sue had a rough spring this year as she had to decide where to go to business school Harvard, Stanford, or Tuck. Poor Sue! Also in the San Francisco area is Beth Hovey, who is at home in Orinda, Calif. She is headed east in September, as the rumor has it, to begin a master's program in history at NYU.
"Also in the west, but not on 'the coast,' are Dave Grainger in Salt Lake City, Jenny Merchant in Denver working for a publisher, and Brock Tuppeny in Texas. Brock is in his second year at Combustion Engineering, and he is currently stationed in the thriving metropolis of Muleshoe, Tex.
"Other notable notes: Jessica Rosenberg and Kevin Schulman just finished their second year at NYU med. They also just took their boards, and now they want to celebrate. Also accomplishing an academic feat was Barb Thistle, who just graduated from Tuck this month. Barb is off to the working world, wherever that may be.
"And as for me, I am just hanging out. I finished another quarter of school last week and I'm spending the summer with Bill Cossaboom in Georgia while he finishes his master's in immunology. This fall will hopefully find me in med school in California. By the way, Bill is living with a friend of Jon Howland from hiking days in South Carolina. What is Jon doing now?
"One other thing I forgot to mention was my congratulations to Mark Trauner, who had an amazing appearance at the U.S. Open Golf Championship in Michigan. Way to go, Mark. Keep up the good work. I saw you on the news in L.A. You're a star!"
Thanks to Sarah for her contributions, and I encourage others to send in guest columns to me.
