Greetings from Atlanta! For this column, I have information you passed to Bill McLaughlin on your dues notices. I have supplemented this with information gathered through expensive long distance phone calls to those of you who have tried to hide.

Kathy Toler wrote that she married Tom Bassett in November 1984. She and Tom are living in St. Louis and were expecting their first child in December. Marty Grapes Benson and John Benson '79 are alive and very well in Plymouth, Minn. Marty has a great job as a technical analyst in the fixed-income department of Dain-Bosworth, Inc., a Minneapolis-based brokerage firm. She is also enjoying their first "munchkin," Molly Grapes Benson '07.

Nat and Renee Goodspeed are living in Rochester, N.H., with their son, Peter, and were expecting their second child in January 1986. Renee practices dentistry with her father in Rochester, and Nat is a systems analyst for Multiplications Software, Inc., in Cambridge, Mass. They recently saw Colin Morse, who is pursuing a career in economics in Ithaca, N.Y., while his wife, Eva, obtains a degree in hotel management from Cornell. Renee wants to hear from Trisha Singer Sargent. Where are you?

Mary Ellen Tarzy has been in Phoenix for a bit more then two years, working for American Express in telecommunications. Her husband, Neil '76, is finishing his residency in family practice and they hope to settle in the Phoenix area. MarkPanella wrote that he has settled in Brookline, Mass., and is living with CurtOberg. Mark wrote about bar-hopping in Minneapolis with Bob Ceplikas but neglected to mention what he is doing in Brookline. Susan Tsamparlis Janosz is still teaching math at West High in Manchester but has also "dug into" a new venture buying a funeral home.

Several of our doctors and doctors-to-be also sent news along with their dues. J.Craig Alexander is moving to practice near his hometown of East Greenbush, N.Y. He thinks its a great place for him and wife, Anne, to raise their new daughter, Courtney Elizabeth, born May 20, 1985. Gary Sobelson is enjoying life back in the Granite State, balancing the demands of family practice and his own family life with wife Carol and his twoyear-old daughter, Rachel. Gary stays in contact with John Jordan, who is using his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in his job as a professor at Duke Medical School. John may find Suzanne Patton in his med school class as a first year student.

My expensive phone calls have also yielded medical news. Roland Feltner is living in Cincinnati while completing the second year of a three-year family practice residency. Roland has been married since 1979 and is enjoying his son, Nathaniel, who was one in December. Anat Feingold was not home, but her roommate told me that she is a pediatric resident at Montefior Hospital in the Bronx. Anat was on my freshman trip, and all I can remember is big blisters that made HER need a doctor! Tough to believe she's a real doc now. Tayloe Holton was doing her best doctor imitation by keeping her phone busy all night. What are you doing in Portland, Maine, Tayloe? Stand up and be counted!

Jim Fownes has recently finished his doctoral dissertation defense, so he was home when I called. After four and a half years, he is completing his Ph.D. in forest ecology at U. Wisconsin in Madison. He plans to do additional research in Madison for six months and then will be looking for a permanent position. He tells me that he is now overqualified to be a forest ranger living in a watchtower, so I guess he will have to settle for the academic world. Rob Gifford was home in Washington, D.C., between trips to Atlanta where he is working on a proposed development project for the Rouse Company, which brought us Faneuil Hall and South Street Seaport. Rob also reported a rumor that Celia Chen is coming to D.C. on a project for the NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, of course). Is this true, Celia?

Todd Hemphill was home coping with demands of fatherhood. His wife, Nancy, gave birth to their first child, Bonnie, on Halloween night. Todd is clerking for a District Court Judge in Raleigh, N.C., un- til September 1986. After that, he expects to practice law in Raleigh. MelanieGraves was home in Arlington, Va. She has been the computer coordinator for the Sidwell Friends School in Washington since 1983. She and her husband are expecting their first child in May.

Heather Mayfield Kelley reports that she is enjoying her work at the Bank of Boston, where she has been for a year, helping manage the training program for the bank's lending officers. Her husband, Fran Kelley, works in a Boston advertising agency. Heather must have helped him pick his accounts, as he manges golf (Footjoy) and beer (Molson) accounts. Heather reported that Lissa Howell is currently working in the Treasurer's Office at Drexel Burnham Lambert, managing their banking relationships. Lissa recently traveled to Jakarta to visit MaggieFellner.

Jennifer Jarvis was sharing a late dinner with husband Ron King when I called. Ron and Jennifer are both graduates of Columbia Business School and have been putting up with a commuting relationship while Ron was working for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. Ron has recently tranferred to Lilly's Elizabeth Arden division in New York City, so he and Jennifer are enjoying being married and living in the same city. While Ron is enjoying Elizabeth Arden, Jennifer is working in the circulation department for Life magazine.

Karen Fagerstrom is really enjoying her work at White and Case in New York, and rumor has it that Joan McGivern will soon be joining her there. Karen made a Columbus Day weekend trip to Hanover to visit Celia Chen, who is in Hanover working on her master's thesis. (Karen has also heard the rumor that Celia's going to Washington, but she's not there yet.) Ellen Peterson, whose father was teaching this fall, was also visiting for the weekend.

Well, that's the news. Keep those cards and letters coming!
