Oh Ring Dem Bells! Don't you hear Dem Bells! They is ringing out at Baker for the glory of the 1936 50th reunion: "SURVIVAL WITH CLASS."

With less than a month to go, about all we need here is a checklist:

— Say "yes, we'll be there," and then look over the list A1 Gibney sent you last month of those who also plan to be with us June 6, 7, and 8. If any of your best friends are not on the list, give them a call and twist their arms, cajole, beg, threaten — but get them to Hanover.

— Having said "yes." get your deposit off to Ray Builter, 94 Robertson Crossing, Woodfield Village, Fairfield, CT 06432, phone 203/321-5765. He's back from Florida now and needs an accurate count for ordering jackets, badges, etc. The badges are plainly legible even if your vision has slipped slightly from your original 20/20. And the jacket — well, you could even wear it to church or perhaps your grand- daughter's (informal) wedding.

— You recently received the College dorm room application — not necessarily Ritz Carlton or Super Sheraton accommodations, but clean, comfortable, and for free. The '36 reunion committee has absolutely nothing to say about the dormitory assignments, so handicapped persons or those wanting to room in a particular dorm or close to some specific friend, etc. should so advise the College on the application. But you must send the application to the College without delay.

— You may want to stop off at the State Liquor Store at Lebanon or White River Junction (or en route), and check up on your supply of spirits. Hard stuff will not be available at the '36 tent or elsewhere (except at the Friday and Saturday night receptions). Beer will be on tap at the tent and for the Sunday luncheon (and wine, possibly). Classmates who are accustomed to a Bloody Mary before breakfast or lunch or who like to relax over a tall cool one will have to rely on the old BYOB syndrome.

— Check your mail for the great '36 reunion yearbook. It has been sent to all members of the class and should provide added impetus to your plans to head for Hanover June 6, 7, and 8.

Incidentally, and not pertaining to his monumental job in putting the book together, Boyce Price spent a bit of time in the local hospital to have a small hernia repaired which he said was "a little legacy from too much logging after Hurricane Gloria took down about a dozen of our trees." At last report, recovery was well underway.

— And while you have your checkbook out to line up travel arrangements and traveler's checks, don't forget the 1936 Alumni Fund. Overall, the Fund is off to an excellent start, both in dollars and contributors. Progress reports for 1936 participation are understandably sparse, but our class has always been strong in the homestretch. If you are having to shake the piggy bank to make reunion, give it another shake for the Fund.

In closing, don't let the unhappy news reports coming out of Hanover the past few months or so disturb you or deter you from joining us in the greatest 50th ever. The reports were not always complete, accurate, or even well informed - and I don't recall seeing in national media any mention of the strong and encouraging endorsement given by the Trustees to the President and the College administration.

There are a number Of new buildings on campus, new programs, and exciting new plans for things to come. No breathing member of the '36 family should miss our gathering.
