Congratulations and best wishes to Bill Pickard and Japet Murphy '76 on the occasion of the birth of their son, William Rossington Pickard III, on August 5. Bill and Janet write: "Great lungs; 10 of each; mother is fine!" Young William weighed in at 9 lbs. 7 oz.

When final pledges and gifts were counted, the 1986-87 Alumni Fund reached an all-time high of $12,028,617. Total giving increased by more than $1 million or almost nine percent over last year. Nearly two out of three alumni contributed to the Fund. Our class met its dollar goal with gifts and pledges totaling $100,000 and over 60 percent of our class participated in Fund giving.

Finally, we were saddened to learn of the untimely death of our classmate, Jack Fitz-simmons. At the time of his death, Jack was a partner in the law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York City. A complete obituary will appear in a subsequent issue of the Alumni Magazine.
