In our mail this month were more reunion notes. . . . Gary Ransom writes: "As the lucky winner of the free reunion weekend in Hanover, I would like to extend a grateful thank-you to all my classmates. I'm in the second year of a doctoral program at Yale and my wife is in the last grueling stage of writing her dissertation at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, so I am happy to report that the award was a grateful boost to our meager graduate student finances. We had a wonderful time at the reunion and hope that in 16 years or so our daughter will choose to go to Dartmouth."

From Witt Fram came word that the conspicuous absence of his wife "at our tenth was because she was expecting child number two. Thank God the baby didn't arrive while I was enjoying the Dartmouth sprint. True to the doctor's word, Rachel Laeh arrived July 1 to join brother Bryan, age two and a half. And I thought life was hectic before. I hope my plans will work this time and my wife Ruth will not be pregnant at my 15 th and will be able to see good old Dartmouth. For those of you who thought that T. Pugh and R. Milbert did not survive reunion, let it be known that they are back to their same old tricks with the help of the bad influence of Dan Hergott '72."

Willis Newton reports: "Enjoyed the recent reunion, even with the rain and mud." Tom Price sends word that he "enjoyed our tenth reunion beyond all expectations and look[s] forward to increasing involvement with the College. Alas, my days as a 'shark' have ended now, [in preference to] the ways of a 'family man.' August 15 I married Patricia Hayling (Colgate '76) in New York City at the Waldorf-Astoria. Dartmouth alumni in attendance were Keith Jackson '7O, Wally Ford '70, Herschel Johnson '7O, Bev Love '72, and Stu Simms '72.

And then there were the regrets. . . . From Ben Semmes: "Sorry to say I missed the reunion but not a Pontiac which broadsided my Toyota as I arrived in Pittsburgh to further my training in critical case medicine (June 16). Spent two days in 'off-the-job' training in an intensive care unit, and another nine before discharge.

"Seven fractured ribs. "Three fractured lumbar vertebrae. "One collapsed lung. "Time heals many wounds, as I ran five miles today and bought a very large car."

Dave Shair writes: I was sad to miss the reunion but was too busy on a new job to get away. In June I started with Ritz and Larson Ltd. after three years of solo practice and high school teaching. Though we are supposed to be a general commercial firm, now most of my work is in one of the few growth industries bankruptcy law."

From Pete Bradley: "I truly hated to miss the reunion but it was unavoidable due to a career change. I recently received a note from Brad Watters he has a new addition to his family and the school he founded is doing well. Perhaps I'll have a chance to fill in some more details later ..."

There were also the new arrivals. . . . Chuckand Jan Diters became the proud parents of Marshall Edward on September 7. He weighed in at seven pounds, two-and-a-half ounces. On September 8, Bob and Sailie Parker Lotz had their first child, a boy, Robert Parker Lotz. And Andy and Jennifer Harper proudly announced the birth of their first child, a daughter, Alexandra Lee, on August 14 at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover. She's "a future toy-tester for the Weston Toy Works," Andy writes.

Finally, there's word from Dave Felt that he will wed Lynda Wendel on January 2 in Salt Lake City. Lynda, a graduate of the University of Oregon, is an accountant in Frankfurt. They'll remain in Germany until next December, then Dave will return to consulting for the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C. He recently became an operations officer for an artillery battalion after serving as an Army organizational effectiveness management consultant.

Send us your news. We'll be back next month.
