In August you received the new 1988 Directory of the Class of 1937 as promised by our printer Bill Rotch and his Cabinet Press in Milford, N.H. It is the kind of a directory we are used to reading, green cover, two addresses if needed, nicknames, wives names, widows listing, deceased members, and geographic directory. Thanks, Bill, for a quality printing job.

Send me corrections and changes and updates which I will record, and we will try to send out an errata sheet with a future issue of the Mint Bag. Since most of us are retired, we will have time to bring the directory up to date. One good by-product of changes is that I receive mail from classmates.

Joe Tardiff was the first to respond, saying that they winter in Florida, but are apt to be in different locations. Last winter they were in Vero Beach and saw Hal and Marlene Putnam. He added that this is the year of their 50th wedding anniversary and he and Oliva are celebrating in a variety of ways during the whole year. What a great idea! How are the other golden anniversary couples celebrating this year?

The 1937 class trip to Alaska in July on the U.S. Universe has received rave reviews, which proves that our trip director BenDoran knows the key to success. Twentysix people were aboard and enjoyed the scenery and the lectures (42) given by eight professors. Many shore trips including one to the Klondike gold rush area. In addition to Tony and Ireena Tuckevich, on the trip were his brothers Nick '40 and John '28. Sam Dillon has written a narrative of the trip which you will read in the Mint Bag. Two great class trips call for a third, and in response to the survey sent to the class, Ben is thinking of a Danube trip in October 1989. We were on the Rhine trip and think the Danube will be exciting. Put the Danube in your travel plans for 1989.

Come and join 1937 for the Dartmouth Night torchlight parade Friday, October 14, before the Harvard game. We need new recruits to join Jud, Beth, Lem, Russ,Harry, Fran, John, and Carl to carry the '37 banner. It will rekindle the spirit of the Dartmouth Night parades of the thirties.

The July/August issue of Upper ValleyMagazine published in West Lebanon carried an excellent in-depth interview with Chick Koop. Included in the article is a picture taken from the 1936 Aegis of Alpha Sigma Phi of which Chick was a member. Others of our class in the picture are Norman Peschko, Arthur W. Tucker Jr.,Lester Garvin, and Frank G. Young Jr.Fran Fenn and Oliver Butterworth were victims of the editor's cropping.
