At the time of our mini reunion, president Fran Fenn appointed an ad hoc committee—consisting of Charlie Blasidell, chairman, Carl Erdman, and Tom Nastto come up with an appropriate expression of gratitude and appreciation to honor those members of the '37 family who had faithfully served the class and Dartmouth over a long period of years.

Bibs Bankart and Rog Allen were unanimously chosen to be the first recipients of the Honor Award.

Bibs wrote the class column for many years and gained fame among his peers and garnered all the awards and elected positions in the Association of Dartmouth Class Secretaries. He was also a recipient of the Alumni Award. Few classes have had a classmate of Bib's ability and loyalty to perform this labor of love for so long. In addition, he served as class secretary and as a member of the executive committee for over 20 years. To properly honor Bibs and Katie, the class provided them with a vacation trip to the Bahamas, a place they had always looked forward to visiting. Bibs, we expect a full report from you on the trip.

To honor Rog and Ginny, the Honor Award was a Denon stereo CD player to complement their stereo equipment. We hope they have many hours of beautiful music. Rog says he has a good friend and neighbor who has promised to teach them how to use the equipment.

Betsy Ross has an eagle eye. She suggests you look at the April picture on the Dartmouth pictorial calender for 1988 which includes a picture of the Barbara Coast orchestra, circa 1936. The musician at the drums is none other than our own BobMcCoy who recently moved back to live in Hanover with wife, Liz. It appears to your scribe that the picture was taken in the Beta house.

After a long illness, Gus Farwell died on January 12 in Stuart, Fla. We remember what a great time he had with us at reunion.

Travel department: Lem and Liz Bowen to Kenya, Africa, in February; Ben andMarge Doran returned from California visiting daughter Brewer; Jackie and ParkJohnson in their new Santa Barbara home, and Dana and Lynn Prescott in Palo Alto; Frank and Mary Fenn are going to see the Mississippi in March from the Delta Queen.
