It's nice to have a modest backlog of material for a change! Here it is February and I still have a few football weekends to mention. Sat on the UNH home side in Durham with Chuck Curtis who was manning a movie camera focused on son Scott, the senior linebacker and defensive signal caller for UNH. Scott had his usual strong day on defense. Chuck split at half time for a wedding reception on a boat in Portsmouth harbor so I drifted to the Green side in search of more familiar faces. Didn't spot a '52 in the crowd except Don Myers whom I had seen at several of the early games. By now Don has moved back to St. Thomas for the winter. He is looking and feeling much better, but still has a way to go in his recovery from the boat paint episode.

Mary Teevens was there with some of her offspring—Tim and Kevin, recent UNH graduates, and Tara who is a senior there. I also spotted Mike Harris and Jerry Underwood, both '51s and both from Maine, in the stands at Durham.

The team came to life against Davidson, a much easier opponent than the first two. Threatening weather kept the crowd down, but a few of the regulars made it to the Sphinx tailgate area: Dick Gowen '50 and Carol, Joe Sullivan '49 and Nina, Bud Lynch '38" and Elsie, Al Quirk '49 and Pat. AndyStewart stopped by briefly—still seemed to have a trace of a limp from that skiing accident two years ago.

At the Harvard "Catch The Spirit of Dartmouth" weekend we won the pre-game dinner but not the game. The dinner at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel featured President Freedman's first appearance before the Greater Boston alumni body and the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Hopkins Center.

Seen in Beantown over the weekend were Steve and Lorraine Parkhurst, Chuck andAlison Curtis, Bob and Pat Brace, HowieSmith, Angus Russel, Frank Logan and daughter Nancy, Ted and Sally Haskell,Ely and Sondra Wagshul and family, Boband Penny Binswanger, and Jack and Dodie Boyle. Sandy Saunders was hijacked into an important client meeting so his game seats were occupied by his look-alike brother and his wife. We also bumped into a bunch of '51s including Dick and Peggy Price. Had a lengthy chat with Dick under the pre-game tent during which he brought me up to date on Chuck Nevens's travels. It was sad to hear indirectly from the same source a week later that Chuck had just passed away in Las Vegas, his home base in recent years. More on this in a later edition.

Dan Gutterman writes he has joined the New York firm of Winthrop, Stimson, Put- nam & Roberts as counsel specializing in structured financing, asset-based lending, equipment leasing, factoring, and related transactions.

Alden Guild passed along a Milwaukee newspaper article about Bill Randall's award from Mount Mary College of their 1987 Pro Urbe medal for distinguished community service.

Herb Drury wrote he was in the east during October and November visiting at his mom's place in West Lebanon, with side trips to several Boston area jazz haunts.
