Santa Claus was good to me. The mail bag overfloweth! First, many thanks to Os Skinner '2B for sending along the December 27 New York Times notice of the impending marriage of Bob Danziger's daughter, Joan '81, to Dr. Daniel Herz Hechtman. The big day has been set for May. Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple and to the mother and father of the bride.

On December 14 the Newcomen Society of the United States announced that its board of trustees had elected Russell W.Brace to be its president and chief executive officer. The Newcomen Society, a nonprofit membership corporation, was founded in 1923 "to recognize, encourage, promote, and stimulate study and research in the field of business history." Russ, who most recently was chairman, president, and CEO of New England Communications and New England Publications, has been a member of the Newcomen Board and chairman of the society's Maine Committee for the past ten years. If my information is correct, he is the first person to hold the presidency of the society who is not of the founding Penrose family. Congratulations and best wishes, Russ.

Wil Sogg on TV? Yes, folks, the new star of the tube is hosting a weekly half-hour program called "Business Line." Wil also has a radio program, "Business and the Law," which is now in its third season. With his background from Dartmouth, the Harvard Law School, and the London School of Economics (where he was a Fulbright scholar), Wil's credentials are impeccable. We wish him well with the new program.

Ron Lewis reports that he is still a traveling man. Last address, New Canaan; now "based in the 'Hamptons' on the south fork of eastern Long Island." Current pursuits include historical restoration consulting and renovation, corporate design consulting, photography, and photojournalism. And, Ron says, "remember, a wet bird never flies at night." Anyone know what that means? Or do we want to know?

Sad news was received recently of the deaths of Don Bush on December 2 and BobTaft on December 9. Their classmates extend sincere sympathy to their wives, Helen and Mindy, and to their children.

On a happier note, the Montgomery County (Maryland) Sentinel reports that the Rev. Lincoln "Lon" Dring, director of Community Ministries for the county, is doing outstanding work for the area's poor, hungry, and homeless. Much of Lon's energy is devoted to Habitat for Humanity and to the Presbytery Housing Development Corp., the former providing housing for the needy, the latter, homes for the elderly. Lon commented on the satisfaction he finds in his work, which "seems to touch a place where a need is."

A fearsome foursome of '56ers. Doug Keare gave this photo to '56 secretary Norm Olson saying: "I'm sure most classmates will recognize Bill Beagle, holding up well on the far right, and Tony Newey, holding up reasonably well next to him. I am far left. I can't recollect who is standing between the bemused Newey and me. In his few lucid moments he claimed to be a V-12 graduate in '48 or '49 by the name of Zook, or something similar." If you can't figure it out, call Keare.
