In the last couple of issues of the ALUMNIMAGAZINE, I ended this column up with a plea to all of you to please send in a little information about other classmates or yourselves. The response to date has been nil, so let's all try to get in some sort of news item. It will not only make this job a bit easier, but it will also keep the class a little closer together.
While we're on the subject of class unity, I might mention that five members of the class got together early in March and discussed plans for the annual '46 beer bust. As things stand now this bust should come off some time early in May. Other matters touched upon in this meeting were the part our class would play in the annual Alumni Fund, the tentative dates of class reunions, and the general organization and administration of the class. Among those '46's at the meeting we noted Reg Pierce, Hal Bowman,Bob Kimball, and Bob Hunt. A definite date for the class get-together will be announced in the following issue.
At this writing here in Hanover we are all wondering just when the long awaited spring will roll around. The air feels a bit warmer, but the snow still seems pretty deep. PhilStedfast has had his golf clubs out and cleaned for a month, but claims that the snow's so deep on the golf course that they'll still be ski jumping out there during the summer vacation. However, even though there are many signs of winter still around, there is an increasing number of visible clues that point to the better things that are to come. The baseball team is now working out daily in the gym and should be in form for their southern trip. Among those candidates working out were "Hank" Durham and "Shipwreck" Kelley.
With the spring recess just around the corner, many plans are being devised so that that eight-day period will produce a maximum amount of pleasure for a minimum amount of cash outlay. Some are planning to head south for the beaches and the sunshine, and others are planning to head north for one last fling at skiing before putting the boards away for another season. Harry Colmery and a few other SAE's have a week's round-trip tour in Florida all planned out for about sixty dollars per man. It all sounds great, but they'll probably be living on rice. Reg Pierce and Joe Donahue are also interested in a southern trip, but they seem to be favoring Sea Island, Georgia. Bud Wingate and Bill Spoor prefer the northern exposure and all that goes along with it, so if all goes as planned they'll be heading up towards the Laurentians for a little more skiing.
This just about winds things up, so take care for now and please try to get in a little more information on what you are doing.
