Apparently the class of '85 believes that no news truly is good news, so once again this will be extremely short as I pass long the small bit of class information that I have.
Spring has sprung, and there are only two more years until our fifth reunion. And miracle of miracles, Diana Shannon is back in the U.S.A. after spending about a year in Mexico. Diana is now in Princeton, N.J., working on a game to educate the young and old about AIDS. Her next place of employment might well be Chicago for this summer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Eric Beinhocker and his girlfriend packed up and left cold, dreary Boston for the beaches of Southern California. Eric's still with Summit Ventures, now a senior associate working out of Newport Beach. He says he'll be writing in regularly with weather reports for all of us suffering Northerners. Surf's up!
Rumor has it that Alison Cooper is engaged. I don't know any details except that she's marrying one of her fellow medical students. Last weekend Mark and I were in Marblehead for Danny Goggin's (my new brother-in-law who is an '83) very beautiful wedding to Sheila Buckley. While there were not any other '85s there, we did bump into Rick Massey and his fiancee, Anne. Apologies to both of them for not congratulating them. I didn't know at the time!
Valerie Hartman graduated from Columbia Law School this May or June. Before she starts her job in New York, she is planning to go around the world, possibly on one of the Semester at Sea programs.
On a sad note, still no news about NancyHart, who disappeared while hiking in Nepal. Nancy was on a heavily forested trail on her way to Mount Everest National Park when she disappeared in late December. Her sister, Deanne, traveled to Nepal in April but failed to uncover any new information. Nancy had just completed two years in the Peace Corps, teaching English to Nepalese children. We can only hope the next news is good news.
