There may be a lot of talk about political footballs during the next few months. But Dartmouth's all-Ivy star and Bengals linebacker Reggie Williams '76 isn't just talking, he's doing something about it. He's now both a politician and a football player. With one year to go on his Bengals contract he was recently sworn in as a city councilman in Cincinnati. He announced that he will donate his 1988 salary to charity because "this year will be a learning period." It's not the first time Reggie has done something for his community. He has spent untold hours working with hearing-impaired youngsters a disability he suffered as a child. He's active in the "Just Say No" anti-drug campaign. And then there's the $100,000 Reggie Williams Scholarship Fund, which helps inner-city students in Cincinnati get to college. Earlier this year Sports Illustrated named Reggie a Sportsman of the Year. How long till someone names him Politician of the Year?
