One of two things was supposed to get me through my first column reunion news or plenty of time to call people from whom I could get some great new material. By now you have heard much about the reunion which most of you and I unhappily were unable to attend and my deadline was much earlier than I had dreamed so I'm working on a combined strategy and praying it passes for a first effort.
Luckily for me, you haven't heard my own news in a while. I am still with Bank of Boston's Treasury Group as senior trader for bank funding. My husband, George, is a plastics engineer at Polaroid and our offspring Nicholas 2, and Karen 10 months, are full-time jobs in and of themselves. By the time you read this, we will have spent July in Greece visiting George's family.
From time to time I speak to Larry Roberts, who has been with Kidder Peabody's Fixed Income Group in sales and trading for quite awhile. Larry says he's still single (that probably should read "playing around") and gave his excuse for missing the reunion as his attendance at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. Larry reports that Bob Varsha was also in attendance but in a formal capacity as color commentator for ESPN.
Ted Daiber is also still in Boston, a law partner at McLaughlin Bros. Joan Daiber is a pharmaceutical sales rep with 3M Riker, and their son, Russell, begins his preparation for Dartmouth with kindergarten this fall. The Daibers, as spokespersons for Alpha Chi, report then Ben Delancy was sorely missed at the reunion.
Over the course of the Alumni Fund campaign I have made several new friends among the spouses who are great for contributing news. Louise Hallam filled me in on the crazy schedule she and Steve Hallam have as a result of his flying with Continental Airlines out of Newark while their residence remains in Orange Park, Fla. Steve is gone four or five days at a time and then returns to spoil Philip 41/2, and Molly 2 1/2, rotten. When he leaves again, Louise is left to impose reality and earn a Wicked Witch of the West reputation. Somehow, in between, they still manage to make a little headway on renovating their home. They hope to visit Hanover this fall and do a Vermont bicycling tour, as cycling has replaced running as Steve's favorite exercise.
Forrest "Hal" Anthony 's wife, Lee, helped me fill in the particulars on his new venture, Quality Biologies Inc., located in Camden, N.J., which measures quality assurance of new bio-tech products. Forrest and Lee have three children: Scott 8, Matt 6, and Kate 2.
My estimated word count tells me I am running out of space but I'm sure I will not always have that problem, so please call or write. I have a hard act to follow and I need vour help!
