Now we have recovered (survived) from seeing each other 15 years later. I have learned that this column is widely read as the Alumni Magazine source of tonguein-cheek humor, and that my readers are on the edge of their chairs awaiting the outcome of my trials and tribulations. So here it is for the month of July: two convictions (20 to serve ten), one dismissal (tiebreaker), one house arrest, and one called on account of rain.
Don Fredrickson writes from Manhattan Beach, Calif. After graduation Don served a two-year stint as bookmobile librarian in Framingham, Mass. In 1978 Don entered the school of music at USC and received his B.A. and M.A. in piano accompaniment. He studied with the accompanist for Jascha Hiefetz, a Brooks Smith, with whom he also studied at the Aspen Music Festival. Currently Don is on the faculty and staff at Santa Monica and El Camino Colleges in Los Angeles. Don also does freelance recital and rehearsal work for the L.A. Philharmonic Master Chorale and other organizations. Don credits his success to the late James Sykes of Dartmouth.
David Murphy has been named president of the new Betty Crocker Products unit of General Mills Inc. in Minneapolis.
Michael Pancoe, a physician who specializes in diagnostic radiology, resides in Bangor, Maine, with his wife, Elie, and children, Beth 10, Julia 7, and Hannah 2.
Don Perlgut writes from Botany Bay, Australia. Don has recently changed careers to the TV Children's and Education development of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sidney. He is developing a major series of programs on adult literacy similar to "Project Plus" in the U.S. Don is looking ahead to 1990, the International Year of Literacy.
David Grant, who lives in Rochester, N.Y., is presently employed by Johnson & Johnson Corporation in its McNeil pharmaceutical division as a professional representative. David's wife, Marilyn, is a teacher in the Rochester school district. Their daughter Carissa is 3 1/2 years old.
Rick Shefchik and his wife, Barbara, announced their new son, David Harry Shefchik, born on December 7, 1988.
