Claudine Belsky is happy. If she had her way the Claudine Belsky story would end there. Maybe three years from now she would report to her classmates that she is "extremely" happy or maybe just "moderately" happy, but we would never find out why she feels that way. Every few years we should simply get an update telling'where she stands on the happiness index. Why is Claudine reluctant to share any details of her life with her classmates? Is it because she prefers being aloof and mysterious? No. Is it because her happiness is derived from an illegal or immoral activity? Maybe. She claims it is because "nobody in the class is interested in what I'm doing." Claudine, your Dartmouth buddies care! Haven't you ever heard of the Dartmouth Family? Besides, just writing "Claudine is happy" doesn't make much of a story. Give me a break! I've got to fill this column every month. (Well, okay, most months ... I did forget that May issue.)

Fortunately it was easy to get Claudine talking. All I had to do was threaten to write about how her happiness stems from the phone-sex service she started after graduation. Not that she couldn't operate a successful phone-sex company, but her joy arises from something a bit more mundane: her job marketing computer software in Boston. Yeah, Claudine, I guess you were right—it does sound boring.

Patty Hannon is on the verge of beginning her residency. She had been spending the last few years at Case Western studying how to heal the human body. Soon she must decide what area of health care to focus on. She wants to be involved in some stage of the birth and infant development process, but she's not sure whether to work in obgyn or pediatrics.

Perhaps Lisa Johnson could help Patty with her choice. Lisa is expecting her first child in late summer so she has made lots of visits to an obstetrician and will soon be shopping for a pediatrician. Lisa and her husband (sorry dude, I forgot your name, but I'll refer to you as Smedley for this article) both teach at Andover. Smedley teaches Russian, Lisa teaches German. Smedley is spending the summer building a home for the family.

Brian Moore is also educating America's youth. He spent the last few years educating them and now he will educate himself at the Harvard School of Education. Prior to beginning his education in education Brian is relaxing in San Francisco where MarkWeiss has taken him on as a temporary tenant. Mark has retired from journalism to begin his own firm which writes advertising copy. One early client is a photocopy chain.

Brian reports that Alex Grubman is in the fish business in San Francisco. Alex buys and sells a variety of aquatic life forms which, I assume, are intended for human consumption.

Richard Thorner recently finished law school at Boston University.
