With 66 classmates, wives, and guests registered for the September 14-15 minireunion and a great program planned, the scene was set for a fantastic weekend. Eleven of our classmates participate in the Dartmouth Sponsors program which funds and assists the recruitment of student-athletes under the provisions of the Ivy League. All funds raised go toward enabling our coaches to bring prospects to campus, visit them in their homes, and provide them with information about their particular sports. Several of us attended a Sponsors picnic in Hanover and met three student-athletes who gave testimony to the value of a trip to Hanover. You can become a sponsor by writing a check for $100 payable to Dartmouth College and mailing it to Athletic Sponsor Program, Alumni Gym, Hanover, NH 03755. The number of 1937 sponsors is low, so let's go '37!

We regret to tell you that Fred Ingersoll died on July 6 in Marietta, Ga., after a long battle with cancer; and Bob Woodruff died in Miami Beach on August 14 from complications from a stroke.

By the time you read this column, our classmates will have returned from the Romance of the Seine class trip. Ben Doran will have to designate someone to chronicle the journey so we can savor the experience. Congratulations to Ben for organizing and planning this latest excursion.
