Fifty days from the time you read these Class Notes, we will be gathering in Hanover on Monday, June 9, 1997, for The Super 60th Reunion. You still have time to decide that you don't want to miss joining with the great class of 1937. Furm Stanley's reunion committee has planned a great program. Take this opportunity to see your classmates, reminisce about the four years that changed your life, and see for yourself how great Dartmouth is today. You can inspect the Collis Center and the Moore Theatre, gifts of our classmates which have impacted the lives of today's Dartmouth students.

At our mini-reunion last September, the class set a 60th Reunion gift goal of $210,937.60. Fran Fenn reports as of today, Valentine's Day, we have reached 80 percent of the goal in the amount of $160,000. Fie thinks we have a good chance of making the goal. Did you read in U.S. News & World Report that Dartmouth is #1 in undergraduate teaching in the 1995 survey? Even for those students who are not on financial aid, tuition pays for only 57 percent of a Dartmouth education.

Classmates continue to be involved in worthwhile endeavors although most are retired. HalPutnam's The Putnams of Salem Village, full of 12 generations of genealogies and a new look at Salem witchcraft, is available in hardcover. Hal, bring some copies to the 60th for your autograph.

Jay Heinrichs, editor of the Alumni Magazine, is resigning to accept an offer to be editor of a new magazine for US Airways. Jay brought many new ideas to the magazine to keep it fresh and readable. Good luck, Jay.

Connie Schuck writes that his "roomie" for three years, WarrenMeredith, died in Albi, France, January 7, 1997.

We regret to note the following deaths: December 8, 1996, Augie Paeschke; December 13, 1996, Edwin Sterns; January 4, 1997, E. Bradner Peterson; January 20, 1997, Richard Ziemer; and January 1997, H. Wilder Pierce Jr.
