The mini-reunion for the Yale game in October had a sparse turnout, as widespread rain in New England kept many people at home. John Einsidler reports that Chip Carstensen, Fred Crossman, JoeFallon, Ralph Child, and Young Dawkins braved the warm rain and saw the Big Green defeat Yale. Fred was flush with the success of his first effort as newsletter editor, and stayed busy taking notes for the next edition. Charly Nearburg was also in town for the game, and stayed with John Collier. Charly had taken a break from his exploration business and the racing circuit to attend the game and his first function as a member of the Board of Overseers of the Thayer School.
rescheduled the meeting for December in New York City. In addition to some of the reunion plans mentioned last month, a topical round-table discussion, led by faculty or class "experts" is being planned. We are currently considering the crisis in the Middle East as a topic and would appreciate hearing from you about this or other potential subjects.
Maybe we should also consider a serious jock competition for our class reunion as well. Jack Manning is the first to confess to one of the signs of the approaching midlife crisis mentioned in last month's column; Jack is in the midst of a serious effort to get in shape for one last rugby season and the spring alumni football game. Peter Broberg reports that he was drafted by the San Bernardino, Calif., franchise of the Semor Professional Baseball League, and that commuting to home games on the West Coast may prevent his participation this year. Pete claims that his involvement with the league last year only cost him four days away from his law office in West Palm Beach, Fla. In passing, Pete mentioned hearing from KirkFriedland recently; Mark also practices law in West Palm Beach.
John Dagianis was recently named president of St. Joseph's Hospital medical staff in Nashua, N.H.John is an ophthalmologist there.
Best wishes for the holiday season-make your New Year's resolution to attend Reunion in June.
