"Sugar Fox, this is Any-face. Do you read?" No, it wasn't an old radio transcription from "Don Winslow of the Navy." It was Andy Wilde calling in from Needham, Mass., to report on his most recent visits to Norfolk (the O Club is now a museum), Virginia Beach, and Breezy Point and the Convoy Escort piers (where he toured vessels) to learn what's going on now that he's retired as a commander in the USNR. Andy also checked out the Navy Archives that s abuilding in Washington and has been contacting old shipmates from his tour in Korea. He'll swap sea stories with other ex—swabbies at reunion next June 11-14.
ANOTHER MUSEUM. A card received as we were going to press revealed that DonKrueger of Morris Plains, N.J., participated in the dedication of the New Jersey Agricultural Museum (Don is a trustee) in a new building on the Cook College campus in North Brunswick. Don's father collected the majority of the artifacts that will be housed there in the Garden State. And you thought it was all roses and rutabaga.
THE WILD BLUE YONDER. Scratch that metaphor if you can't block it. Doesn't apply since Capt. Frank Barker, USN (Ret.) did his sky wandering in a different yonder. He's flying still commercially if anyone is willing to give it a go from Cold water, Mich, (map reveals that's about a dozen miles north of the Indiana line in the middle of Michigan). Frank says he is mostly involved in building a new plant and corporate office for Grahl Industries. Details at the tent in June.
MAINE LINE. Words from Manchester, Maine, reveal that Carol and PatBrewster celebrated two weddings in three weeks last summer. Seth Brewster '82 married Helene Kazanjian August 12 (they're Boston barristers with different firms), and Toby '83 exchanged vows with Becca Glimp '84 September 2. That couple is at Harvard, admissions and financial aid work for Toby, grad work in education for the bride.
KEYSTONE KONNECTION. After 30 years with Westinghouse, Ralph Muehlig spent the last couple of years working in the Department of Labor. In September he was sworn in as Federal Administrative Law Judge (Health and Human Services) in Wilkes-Barre, whence commeth the korny kategory above. Sandy and Ralph are now closer to Hanover and should find time to make it back for reunion.
