A friend who lives in Newport, N.H., brought me a newspaper article which appeared in the Argus-Champion largely about JohnMcCrillis. "He practically invented skiing," says the writer. It also shows an oil painting of John on a ski trail. The painting is on display in the Mt. Sunapee base lodge. The article is laudatory about John and, in the words of the poet, "it couldn't happen to a nicer guy."

Nick Sandoe talked to Bri Greeley lately. Bri is making a good recovery.

Jim Davis is about the same. I had a long talk with Mary. She is well. She says Jim eats well and sleeps well, which is half the battle at our age.

The writer has had a bout with the flu. I am all right now but don't have as much pep as I would like. They say that will come with time.
