The last time the backlog dried up and a blank appeared in this column, a classmate's wife rushed me a story and great picture to bring us up to date on her husband's doings in the Southwest's oil patch with a sideline of raising Arabian racing horses. Thanks again to John Yates's wife, Peggy, for that response. I mentioned this because this one is damn close to a blank and I would like to appeal to wives to pitch in with some morsels about our classmates who have not found the time to write in themselves. Let's hear from you. It's your column and many of us would like to be brought up to date.

Jack McNary, my roommate for four years, has decided to slide into retirement after 35 years in the concrete business in Manchester, Conn. It's a good bet that Jack will be spending more time at his favorite retreat in Bath, Maine. Imagine the boat will hit the water a little earlier this spring.

Concerning the College, it is nice to observe a cost-conscious management in operation, but it is also disconcerting to hear about the program disruptions brought about by the recent wave of expense reductions and personnel eliminations in order to "avoid future budget deficits." What seems to be missing from all the publicity about the sudden austerity moves is information about the factors which triggered the action.

Norm Logan announced recently the formation of his management consulting firm, Logan & Company, specializing in corporate planning and human resource consulting for the investment management industry.

Norm has spent many years in the investment company field, most recently as a senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Keystone Group which is headed by George Bissell '51. Norm will retain his base of operations in Boston where he has established an office at the World Trade Center.

Gail Sanderson just sent her latest brochure on her bed-and-breakfast operation in Wilder, Vt. Stonecrest Farm. She especially welcomes '52s who need to be put up in the Hanover area.

Word has reached us that Dean Kutchera passed away last October at his home in Delray Beach, Fla.
