This month, we're taking a look 'round the girdled earth to see where some of our earth science majors land fellow travelers have landed: Dave Dethier is a professor of geology at Williams College in Massachusetts. Dave and Nancy had their first child, Evan Neyland Dethier, last summer, and occasionally see Fred Bickford, who is a groundwater consultant in Laconia, N.H. Dave does most of his field work in New Mexico, where he sometimes sees Dave Borns, who is with Sandia Labora- tory, doing geology related to "secret stuff."

Survey in Menlo Park, Calif. Tom has been analyzing groundwater for the Water Resources Division and doing other part-time work at the USGS for several years. Tom lives across the bay in Alameda, and reports no damage to his house in last October's earthquake, although it is only three miles from the freeway collapse. Also doing geology in the public domain is Steve Shirey, who is with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Steve and Loretta live in Maryland.

In the oil patch, Duncan Chisholm is a project geologist with Enron in Corpus Christi, and is enjoying some recent success looking for oil and gas in south Texas. Duncan reports drilling a well on Foss Jones's ('71) land recently. Also in the oil patch, Eric Potter is a geologist with Marathon in Houston.

Doug Charlton is a geologist with Converse Consulting in San Francisco. DougGreenlaw works for the Millipore Corporation in Milford, Mass. Steve Gegg lives in Woods Hole, Mass., although no one seems to know if he is connected with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, where Peter Meyer works as a geologist. Bill Schlesinger is still the head of the Environmental Studies Program at Duke University, although he is rumored to miss New England, and may be headed back north.

This is not an inclusive list, but was limited by current information. Several of the above conspirators join me in asking JeffStimson to please check in. Next month, I'll take a look at the whereabouts of all our Erdu majors (just kidding).
