Remembering a certain tug of war on the Green not that many years ago, your class officers took particular pleasure in reasserting our proper place in the Dartmouth class lineup at a recent officers weekend on campus. The class of 1967 was named "Class of the Year" in the younger category (25 years out and less). We obviously liked the "youngest" part almost as much as the award.
A round of snaps go to all of you who earned us the recognition those who supported our excellent Alumni Fund effort, those who attended last year's mini-reunions, and those who worked on all of the other projects that keep us in touch. On your behalf, we issued appropriate challenges to the leadership of the class of 1968 to follow our example!
Bill Yaggy sends a message for your social calendars. On Dartmouth Night weekend, October 13, we will sponsor a mini-reunion for the classes of 1966 through 1969. A party will take place after the Yale game in the Zimmerman Lounge on the first floor of the Blunt Alumni Center.
Two weeks later, on October 27, we have been invited by the class of '68 to a tailgate potluck picnic before the Harvard game. The invitation is informal. Bring something to add to the picnic and just show up.
Recent mail brought us two announcements from the career front. Larry Brown has been named vice president of corporate staff and director of taxation at Owens-Illinois. The appointment will certainly use the skills Larry developed at both RCA and Gould, Inc., where he was vice president for tax affairs.
Don Hansen, who became an expert on mergers and acquisitions and structured financing while a vice president at Sutro & Company, has become a vice president at Hambrecht & Quist. The position gives Don major responsibility for a newly formed merchant banking group at the San Francisco venture capital and investment banking firm.
Also in a new position is Paul Killebrew, who is now serving as associate director of admissions at Dartmouth. Aside from knowing everything about SAT scores and other related matters, Paul continues to join fellow Lyme residents Ed Gray and BrucePacht in working with the junior sports program in Lyme.
