I'm sure we've all been asked at one time or another to participate in or give to a Dartmouth telethon. I myself have done my selfish best to avoid them like the plague but now, thanks to Sherri Carroll Oberg, I've discovered that telethons, while being financially threatening, can be very informative. Sherri supervised one recently and in the process of reaching into our classmates' wallets, she came up with the following information.
Leslie Fleming tied the knot last fall and she and her husband, Kevin, are living in San Francisco, where Leslie is an artist and designer for the Harrison Design Group. Also sporting a San Francisco address are Karen Masterson Dierst and her husband, Sedge. Karen is a lawyer with Morrison and Foerster and has been spending a lot of time in London on business. Nice work if you can get it.
Rolling down Highway One we run into Danny Black on the lacrosse fields of Los Angeles. Danny is working in the L.A. office of the Bank of New York. Corey Filler recently completed her M.B.A. at UCLA's night program and is working for the Danford Corporation. Wedding bells were ringing for Corey in June and she had a Dominican and Alaskan honeymoon penciled in for the summer.
Moving eastward, Albuquerque's LeeSedberry is chairman of the New Mexico chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and recently organized a banquet of 400 to help raise money for this program. Peter Heller is also in the Four Corners area, Colorado to be exact, but he did head east to do some rafting in North Carolina. Don't most people go west to Colorado for rafting? I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Jumping quickly to the right coast, we find Rob Ford consulting in Washington, D.C. Rob started his own international business consulting firm and is helping to set up international relief programs. He'll be hearing bells in October. Barry Cald-well and his wife are also in D.C. where Barry is doing the law thing.
Heading north, Sherri found another lawyer, Dana Burroughs Klinges, in Swarthmore, Pa. Dana and her husband, Dave Hinges '79, recently bought a house and Dana is working in Philadelphia with Wolf, Block, Schorr.
The Boston area continues to swarm with '82s. Lee Apgar works in real estate syndications at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and has bought an island in New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee. Vaune DuganBrooks and her husband, Scott, will be Lee's neighbors, as they have made a similar purchase and will be spending the summer fixing it up. Visitors welcome if they're willing to get their hands dirty.
