Gregor McGregor, partner at the Boston environmental law firm, McGregor, Shea and Doliner, received a National Wetlands Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Environmental Law Institute presented in Wilmington, Del., at the National Wetlands Conference on May 17. The award is for 20 years work on the local wetlands protection, fostering municipal bylaws and ordinances and winning the seminal Massachusetts case upholding the use of Home Rule for local environmental protection, Lovequist v. the Conservation Commission of the Town of Dennis (1979). Last year Greg received the EPA Environmental Merit Award for his advocacy in the field of environmental law, and the year before, tire New England Environmental Network's Environmental Leadership Award.

My old buddy Paul Jerde, formerly president of Telwatch Inc., is now president of Mountain Medical Equipment in Denver. Still, I suspect he would rather be playing drums in a rock group somewhere.

It has been a slow news month so I'll wrap up with a reminder of the pre-game party across from Topliff hall on October 26. Look for the banner. Take care and write.
