Probably a Tallahassee, Fla., cannon announced the arrival of Samantha Husband, great-granddaughter of Dick and Dorothy Husband—the first girl in four generations of the Husband family! What more can we say?

Maybe seeing the Ledyard Covered Bridge as portrayed by Paul Sample '20 on this year's class birthday card stirred memories, for it brought replies from classmates not heard from over the years. Hugh "Dinty" Moore, retiree in Florida since 1965, has preferred not to receive class mailings but wrote that he had a recent stroke and heart attack, but was now fine. Francis Ives, Holden, Mass., was with us 1922-24, transferring to Middlebury College, graduating in 1927. He too is retired, and sent his best to all.

The covered bridge picture bedecked PaulDillingham's room in Johnston Nursing Home, Johnson City, N.Y., as advised by his son, Paul Jr. '53, who later wrote to report Paul's death on September 6. He had been in the nursing home since 1990. His wife, Betsy, died shortly after she and Paul entered the retirement center. Paul Jr. said their 63 years of happy marriage had been generously shared with the family.

Larry Vermillion, when he thanked the class for his birthday card of last year, wondered whether Delta Tau Delta brothers Ed Raisbeck and Dick Sagendorph would attend the 65th Reunion—and indeed they did. Larry did not make it, but he certainly answered the call of Head Agent George Scott with his very generous gift to the 1926 Alumni Fund for Dartmouth when we struggled to reach our goal.
