With the help of Dartmouth Medicine, news of classmates in the medical profession occasionally seeps into this column. Bill McAndrew is in a solo general surgery practice in the state of Washington and also competes in kayak and canoe racing. He, his wife Margaret, and their five children planned a trip East this past summer, with the possibility of a stop in Hanover for die older children who might be interested in attending Dartmouth. Bill is past president of the Country Medical Society, and is now the Washington State AIDS Task Force chairman.

Dick Carleton is working on national cholesterol studies and has had his NTH research grants renewed for another four years. Skipper and navigator of a six-person crew, Dick planned to participate this past summer in a Massachusetts-to-Bermuda sailboat race using only celestial navigation.

press release brought news that Cyril Gsell has moved from vice president, sports watches and clocks, for Elgin Clocks to head the Sportstime Products Division of Bulova Corporation. This Bulova division includes licensed watches and clocks by most of the professional sport leagues.
