Well, faithful readers, the deadline for this column has come again, and my mailbox has not been overflowing with your latest news this month. So it is time to pick up a pen and send me a note. Many of your classmates really would like to know what is happening in your life, and I need your help.
However, one classmate seems to get more press than anyone else. I recently picked up a local paper to find a very interesting profile of Jerry Zaks. Unlike the usual pieces on Jerry's Tony Award-winning direction or his work on the revival of Guys and Dolls that will hit Broadway in the spring, this was a story of Jerry's childhood in Paterson, N J., as the child of concentration camp survivors and his experiences at Dartmouth. The story of his conversion from being a pre-med to his fascination with the theater brought back many memories, from the interfraternity theater contest that Alpha Theta won sophomore year—with Jerry's help—to the many Hopkins Center productions that followed.
I know that by now you have received mailings from Jeff Zimmerman about the reunion yearbook. Jeff is only one of many classmates working hard to make the event a huge success. People like Rob Kugler and Paul Killebrew are busy booking facilities, finding music, and planning food that will make the 25th a weekend to remember. So, go immediately to your calendar and save June 18-21 if you have not already done so. And if you would like to help with the planning, just let Rob or Paul know.
Send me your news.
