My mail this month brought an announcement of John Isaacs' election as president of the Council for a Livable World by their board of directors. John has been the legislative director of the Council for the past thirteen years after serving as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill and working for the State Department.
The Congressional Quarterly recently described John as the leading spokesperson for the peace community in Washington. John is a contributing editor for The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists and through the Council for a Livable World has been a major proponent of ratification of the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty, the completion and ratification of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, and significant cuts in the military budget. John intends to lead the Council in expanding its efforts to stem the weapons of mass destruction-nuclear, chemical, and biological.
And speaking of things military, a number of us were wondering during the Gulf War whether any '67s were in the theater of operations? If you were still on active duty or called up on the reserves, do write so we can share your experiences with your classmates.
After deep philosophical debate over the meaning of life and intense discussion of just how sane we are, your Executive Committee has adopted "Still Crazy After All These Years" as the most appropriate motto for our 25th Reunion. Soon to be unveiled is a wonderful logo that John Talbott has designed and DonKlein put into production. It fits my sentiments at 45 exactly.
Send me your news.
