Among this month's news is word that Mickey Stuart is living in Dallas with his wife, Kitty, a Julliard actress, and two-year-old daughter Kitty. Mickey writes, "I import wine from France (thank you, John Rassias!) and am a supplier to American Airlines, which won first place in Business Traveller Magazine for our wine. I export helicopters and sold one of them to Jean-Claude Killy (it's a long story). I travel frequently to Europe. I am occasionally active in the film business but it's no way to earn a living. We have a good Dartmouth Club here, and I play regular golf with local Greeners. Our team placed fifth in the National Alumni Golf Tournament. Rumors of the latest Hanover-going-to-hell-under-thenew-president scandals keep communication lively, but it's hard to tell what's really happening. If they sell the Skiway, watch out!"
From Andy Urban, "My third child, daughter Jordan, celebrated her first birthday in October, joining Timothy 8 and Lindsay 3. My law practice has been very active. The law firm of Mintz Levin, which I joined in 1978 as the 30th lawyer, has grown to almost 200 attorneys, practicing around the world with offices in Boston and Washington, D.C. In May 1989 I was elected assistant managing partner."
William Ashton is the president of Kinetic Software of Woodside, Calif. Over the course of four and a half years he developed Jet-Ready, a computer software program modeled after the work of Dr. Charles Ehret. Ehret is a world authority on chronobiology who co-authored the best-selling book Overcoming Jet Lag, which explains how protein, carbohydrates, and caffeine intake can trick the body rhythm into easing several days of adjustment to a new time zone. The software translates Ehret's work into a personalized program of diet and activity to adjust body rhythm for individual travellers using airport city codes, dates, and flight times. Jet-Ready itineraries, describing what meals to eat and when to eat them, and when to consume caffeine and when not to, are available from some travel agents and from Kinetic Software, 415/851-4484, for $23.
More on our 20th Reunion from Reunion Chairman John Shanahan: "Although I have yet to receive any returns on scheduled attendance at our 20th Reunion, the classes of '70 and '72 are seeing a very strong positive response rate. But by the time you read this column, a list of those who are planning to be in Hanover will have appeared in our December newsletter.
"Remember, the dates are Friday, June 14, through Sunday, June 16. However, we have arranged tee times at the Hanover Country Club for a littde '7l Yahoo Open between 10 a.m. and noon on Friday the 14th. This should give all you duffers an added incentive to arrive on Thursday afternoon or evening. More details will follow on the 60 slots available for this premier event.
"Our picnic area for Saturday of the reunion will be Red Rolfe Field (the baseball field in back of the gym) in concert with the classes of '70 and '72. This should save us time and possible discomfort of bus travel, gives us access to the College swimming pools, and even gives us Leverone Field House in case of inclement weather (remember the Tenth Reunion!).
"We're going to make sure there are lots of activities for the kids and young adults. So plan to cram the whole family and your clubs (spouses, that means yours too) in the old minivan and head up to Hanover in June for our 20th. Send in your reply cards." That's all for now. We'll be back next month.
