Walt Snickenberger has passed the duties of class secretary over to me. Walt, in your final column you said, "Thanks—it's been a good five years." For all of us it's been a good five years, and to you,Walt, wesay thanks Also in the communications field,

Harlan Brumsted has stepped down as newsletter editor, and that function will now be handled by John McClintock. John, how you have any energy left after that super reunion effort, I don't know. John and I will do our best to keep everybody up on class doings. But we can't do it without your help. My address appears at the end of this column, and John's is P.O. Box 1229, Edgartown, MA 02539.

I regret that I was unable to be at the "Fabulous 45th." At the time I was in a hospital having an Achilles tendon sewn together. Harlan did his usual outstanding job of covering the event in his June 1991 newsletter. I particularly missed seeing roommates BobPoet and jack Howard (Crosby 1943), and Spence Smith (Richardson 1947). I did get a complete report from Gene Bokor and Welles Fendrich. From all the class of 1946, Congrats and thanks to all who worked on the reunion, but more than that, the greatest thanks to all classmates and their families who attended.

On the subject of reunions, let us make plans now for the fall mini-reunion. The date? October 11-12, with Holy Cross providing the opposition on the gridiron. Jack Sayers and Whitey Burnham are the co-chairs of this. We have 12 rooms reserved at Days Inn in Lebanon, but that holds only to September 11. The phone number is 603/448-5070. I hope we can make this mini-reunion the biggest one yet. Some will say, "Hey, we were just there in June!" To you I say, let's get in the habit. After all, "Fantastic 50th" is only a little bit down the road.

Joe Spector wrote before reunion that he could not attend because he spends six months a year in Tangier. Joe, I know of three Tangiers: Nova Scotia, Chesapeake Bay, and Morocco. Wherever, enjoy, and we envy you. Try to get to Hanover this fall, will you?

Jack Carter sends news. Jack is a surgeon and has been practicing in Albany for over 30 years. He is also clinical professor of surgery at Albany Medical Center and Medical School. Jack served on the Board of Social Welfare under Governor Rockefeller, and also served on Blue Ribbon panels of medical malpractice and general liability insurance under Governors Carey and Cuomo. Jack and Sally have been married 40 years, have three children, and five grandchildren. Thanks Jack, that's what I call real news.

Enough for now. Hope you all had a nice summer.
