35 As further evidence of the unusual nature of our class, we received a note from a classmate who died well over a year ago. He informed us that he had done so following an operation and that he no longer wished to receive the DAM as it was cluttering up his landfill. Even though his signature was printed this is a clear indication of how long we are able to remain active. We also do pretty well as far as marriages are concerned. Dee andPerry Wachtel left Heritage Hills to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary in Cleveland joindy with Miriam and Hal Klein, who were observing their 53rd. In order to find more time and freedom for traveling, Carolyne and Sax Zieman are moving from their old house and gardens to a lifecare community in Bloomfield, Conn.

Margo and Eric Hawke, having discovered that Tahoe and Line Washburn were not floating around the Arctic on an ice cube, were royally entertained at dinner in Bellevue followed by a morning ride on the ferryboat to Bremerton. We then heard from Line that this was the first time in ten years he and Tahoe had gone north because there had been too much to do writing up those notes and data. They do see Betty and Bill Lingley from time to time.

Elizabeth and Wally Hodged have sold their Michigan farm in favor of a condominium because for the past year Wally has been recovering from a cardiac arrest. Ruth and SanMielsky are still very active. He is in the process of creating, funding, and distributing a glossary of parliamentary procedure terms in sign language for the deaf.

On the last day of July my wife, Myra, and I organized an outdoor picnic for all 56 classmates and wives in the Hanover area. Thirty were able to attend, but we had heavy rain squalls and 50-degree weather which required an indoor party with fireplaces going fall blast. We are counting on better weather for the mini-reunion October 2-3.
