It does pay to advertise! In the May 1992 issue of DAM, Emilie (Mrs. Alton S.) Palmer's query about the possible use of her "Dartmouth in Song" album jacket elicited an enthusiastic response from John Replogle '88 (74 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02116) stating that the class of 1988 hopes to raise funds for its upcoming Fifth Reunion by soliciting gifts and memorabilia from "some of the more experienced and worldly Dartmouth classes" (such as 1920!) for an auction. "Your album would make an excellent addition... The wonderful thing about the auction is that not only does it raise money for the Class of 1988, which will keep the Dartmouth spirit burning bright for decades to come, but your valued keepsake will be kept in the family to be cherished and passed along for an eternity." Emilie responded by forwarding the jacket and some other "small mementos," with congratulations to John Replogle for "such ingenuity." Perhaps others would like to follow Emilie's example! In John's concluding words: "It is the sharing between generations which keeps the bonds of the Dartmouth family so well intact."
May all of you have a good Thanksgiving, and remember to send news of senior canes and other items of note. Faithfully yours,
