"December Grads Excused From Elective Finals," "Japs Land Reinforcements In Solomons," "Russians Gain Near Stalingrad," and, in a lighter vein, "College Experiments With Poison Ivy Killer"—all headlines in the fall 1942 Daily D as we prepared for finals and war triggered early departure from Hanover.

Doug LeResche checks in from Columbia, Mo., where he and Dottie retired two years ago and enjoy golf, fishing, bridge, and travel. While in St. Louis, Doug was active in the St. Louis Dartmouth Club, also performing enrollment work. Currently he tutors six young people working for their G.E.D.'s, an experience he finds very rewarding. Doug and your secretary commuted to White River while taking civilian pilot training in the fall of '41. Oldest son Robert graduated from Dartmouth in '64, and daughter Linda went to Carleton.

A class record? This one must be hard to beat! Has anyone raised nine children? Well, Bob and Barbara Liming have done just that! Leaving a "fulfilling 30-year practice in radiology in the Salem/Marblehead area," they retired to Lebanon in 1983, where nearness to Dartmouth helps them to "keep active and mentally alert." Bob audits college classes, skis, plays tennis and golf, travels, gardens, and does community volunteer work. He sees BodieMosenthal, Ed Lider, George Graham,Chuck Feeney, Bud Kast, Fred Geller, DonTaylor, Mike Thurston, Dick Wood, DickProctor, Bob Scott, and Hal Lindley, all of whom live or own second homes in the Hanover area, not to mention ex-roommate Fred Stockwell. Exposed to the present student body, Bob is "impressed by the vast majority, both male and female—bright-eyed, eager, pleasantly aggressive, and in general a credit to the school."

Non-retired Dick Longacre writes from Key Biscayne, Fla., where he transferred 20 years ago with Paine Webber. He and Marjorie have four daughters, one of whom works with him in the Miami office, enabling him to break loose for golf and tennis. Dick has served as Security Arbitrator for the N.Y. Stock Exchange and other organizations and is a past president of the Mercy Hospital and Chamber of Commerce boards. Though he belongs to the Miami Dartmouth Club, he isn't aware of any '43s there (the latest directory shows Norm Askey and WaltPettit in Miami). Dick and Marjorie hope to make our 50th.

Jack Mack, also a '41-42 C.P.T. commuter to White River, retired to Vero Beach, Fla., in 1976 following 30 years with the U.S. government in 17 western states, Alaska, and Washington, D.C. Jack and Jane have a daughter in Maryland and a son in Virginia. He sees Smed Ward, Roy Watson, and OrmBirkland occasionally. Active on the Vero Beach PUC Advisory Board, the Vero Cruz Condo Association, the Indian River Volunteer Ambulance Squad, and the Indian River Planning Board ,Jack somehow also finds time to write a column on town council meetings for the local newspaper.

I regret to report three more deaths: JesseHolton, 1988; Milt Binswanger, June 19; and Art Bucknam, June 18. Obits will follow.

Don't forget: Bob Gray needs your writeups for the 50th yearbook. Send them to Box 505, New London, NH 03257. Also, reserve June 11-13 on your calendar for the 50th!
