Here is a quick recap of a nice long letter I received from Hanny Mason (too long a letter for this column, unfortunately, but look for his story in the class newsletter). Hanny describes a terrific trip he took with Bob McDonald through Southwest Colorado out into the Durango country—DougBrew's home. Bob and Hanny's daughters have become good friends, both living in Denver. They met after Bob called Hanny to ask if his daughter could stay overnight while on her trip to the West. It is nice how this worked out. Hanny reports that Bob had a good time except for the times when their car seemed to hang over the cliffs that edge those high Colorado roads. Then he balked. Thanks for the good letter, Hanny.

Bill Fiero also reported on travel. In this case, he was sailing north from Florida, up the Hudson, and out the Erie Canal. He writes, "We are now in Chicago, having cruised Georgia Bay, the North Channel, and Lake Michigan. We are preparing for our cruise down the Inland Waterway to Mobile Alabama." This travelogue sounds too good to be true. Hope we will get a note on the continuation of the journey.

Dan Searby acted as West Coast reporter. Paul Ehrlich has opened a Nicole Miller store in L.A. This is a major collaboration of classmates as die store chain is owned by BuddyKonheim. This is the first time, that I am aware of, that two '57 classmates have joined forces to work in business together. Buddy came to L.A. accompanied by his wife, Colleen, and the renowned designer Nicole Miller for the store's opening. Dan also reports that he has his weekly NFL bet with Paul, so they keep in touch. I remember back in Tuck School Dan found time to bet on the Agua Caliente futures book. How's that for stretching the memory, Dan?

Dan also reports that Jay Greene who, despite retiring early from his shipping business because of vision problems, is leading a wonderfully full life. His wife produced what must be our most recent class baby. Jay is working on a dig through Cal Berkeley, singing in the men's chorus, and growing grapes. Let's hear more, Jay.

Bob Adelizzi and Tommi have moved to Dallas, Texas, where Bob is with Guaranty Federal Savings Bank. Ron Roth has moved from being a movie mogul to the construction industry and now to working with a new company in the Bay area. Hope we'll hear more.

At the annual meeting of the Trustees of Reservations here in Massachusetts I had the pleasure of having supper with Alden and RozGifford. They are dividing their time between a lovely home on Beacon Hill in Boston and another on Cape Cod. Gif is battling through our real-estate recession so he and I have a lot about which to commiserate.
