The new director of admissions at the prestigious Lawrenceville School, not far from Princeton, is John King. John joined Lawrenceville one year after graduation, teaching and coaching, and for 17 years learned the ins and outs of recruiting and selecting prospective students from 1,100 applications to fill 210 places. John runs into John Carpenter '64, an administrator at nearby Ryder College. Wife Beth is director of health education at Lawrenceville, and both Scottie and Michael are undergraduates at Colby College.

Richard Sawyer of Cincinnati, quite possibly the only '63 called up for Desert Storm, left Avon to start a business distributing organic products for lawn care, primarily golf courses. Wife Carol is still at Avon in data entry. Daughter Dori graduated from Vanderbilt and is now assistant branch manager at Third National Bank, the second largest in Nashville. Kathy is a senior at Ohio State. A member of the Naval Reserve, Richard was called to Baltimore to manage Pentagon contracts in the region for the army and navy during the Iraqi war. While in Baltimore he saw his college roommate Jack Stobo, a physician at Johns Hopkins.

Bruce Baggaley spent 17 years at Coopers & Lybrand, the last eight in the management consulting division. Now he's a partner in Liperia Frank Inc., a management consulting firm he started with several others. Bruce's new office number is (201) 644-1847. Wife Patti directs a nursery school for two-year-olds. Brent, an English major at Bates, is considering a teaching career; Kevin is at Wheaton in Massachusetts.

Bill Fleming was chief hydrologist for the state of New Mexico before he recently joined John Shomaker Inc., an environmental consulting firm. Bill's specialty is long-range planning for water supply and water quality, big issues in arid lands such as New Mexico. In September he was in Sri Lanka on an international aid project sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Wife Jeanie is a writer and editor for Technical Communications Services in Albuquerque. The couple has two children, Rachel 14, and Alexandra 10.

A '63 who's managed to "break out" within the corporation is Chuck Wessendorf, until recently manager of corporate asset management at Xerox in Stamford, Conn. An inside financial analyst and controller first with Philco-Ford and then for 20 years with Xerox, Chuck is now manager of investor relations at Xerox. Wife Kathy is in her second year studying for a master's in social work. Daughter Jill is an account executive with Burson-Marsteller, a large public-relations firm, and Lisa is working on a Ph.D. in molecular biology at U.C. Berkeley.

Chuck is eagerly looking forward to the 30 th Reunion June 14-17 in Hanover. Reunion chairman Bill Subin is busy recruiting volunteers and putting together the schedule. If you want to work on the reunion, call Bill at his office at (609) 645-7511, or home, (609) 823-2363. His home address is 7 Bayshore Court, Margate, NJ 08402.
