Along with his class dues, Ed Brophy sent some news from the home front in Crestwood, N.Y. Daughter, Ellen, is a sophomore at Wheaton College, where, incidentally, she has been coeditor of the yearbook with Gail Bokor, daughter of Gene Bokor, Class of '46.
More family news comes from George Gerrish in Kensington, Md., who writes proudly of his four children. Meg is a sophomore at Mary Baldwin in Staunton, Va.; Jamie, a sophomore at St. Andrews School in Middletown, Del., is on the soccer and wrestling teams; Susie is a high school senior and on the tennis team; and Anne, a ninth grader, is on the gymnastics team. George says he and Jean are on the commuting team, but they don't award letters for that.

Aside from making the pages of the New YorkTimes because of a heated dispute over the subject matter of books used in its classrooms, Ridgefield, Conn., boasts another distinction: its committee interviewing prospective Dartmouth freshmen is entire - '47 - Ted Meier, Dave Huntoon, and Frank Weber. Early in the year, the Ridgefield gals seemed more interested in Hanover than the guys did by a 2 to 1 margin - that is, two gals and one guy.
Former Class Treasurer Dick Hollerith was elected a Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of America at the Society's annual conference held in Mexico City. Bill, presently an IDSA director, has held various Society offices since 1967, and was its delegate to the Designers International Council in 1971. He was formerly with the Raymond Spilman and Henry Dreyfuss Design Offices, was head of design for the Monroe Division of Litton Industries, and now has his own design consultant office.
Twenty rooms have been reserved for the Class of '47 at the beautiful Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, Vt., for the nights of October 12 and 13, the weekend of the Dartmouth-Penn game. The Class Executive Committee will meet Saturday morning of that weekend and all class members are invited to the meeting. Rooms will be allotted on a "first come, first served" basis. A cocktail hour and dinner will be held at the inn following the football game. Arrangements will be just about the same as at last year's meeting during the Brown game weekend, which was a great success.
