October, and I'm barely home from September's mini, but this is the last column in which I can send a year-end message. A short year! From sunny, hot, dry, Arizona I send you all warm holiday greetings and wishes for a happy, healthy start in 1993.
1930 did well in its annual fall rollcall, despite time's inevitable toll. Total attendance was 48 against 51 last year; 31 attended the class meeting versus 32 in 1991 and 1990; and 45 at the class banquet against 46 last year, including guest speakers.
Thanks to a clearing sky and temperature in the sixties, and no service at Leverone, the Bema lunch bunch rose to 20. Attending were two each of the Raubes, Lows, Hights,Stones, Squires, and Davises, plus traveler Doris McClory, John Tiedtke (healthy again after 1991's episode), Barbara Butler,Harrison Condon, Bob Keene, Ted Wolf, Mai Clarke '22 (Ted's fellow tennis bum), and, of course, old Marr.
It was great to see the Mclnneses back in Woodstock again after missing several reunions. A note today from Milt says they tolerated the return journey well, enjoying en route a stop in their old longtime stomping ground, Heritage Village. Both Milt and Blanche are well, and we look forward to seeing them at the next reunion.
Among the missing this year were GinnyChilcote, on a cruise but hoping to be with us next year; Art Olsen, hosting a convention of 500 thoracic surgeons at Mayo's ("Thought I'd retired," says Art); Les Godwin, with a blood infection; Wayne Van Leer, and BobKohn, both reported OK but not there.
Frank Logan' 52 told me that Chuck Faye is in good shape. He was going to see Chuck in October, when the Will to Excel road show was touching down in San Francisco. I'll be lending Frank a hand when part of the traveling show hits Tucson and Green Valley early next
Ted says die class must be tired of reading about his tennis. I don't know about that, but he says he's through until January when he hopes to take in a couple of Florida tournaments, with the added bonus of seeing some "southern-fried classmates" around Sarasota.
