Homecoming, the 1991 version, was a perfect weekend: warm, sunny weather, a roaring bonfire, a Dartmouth victoiy over Cornell, and a masterful 1962 mini-reunion concocted by Tom Komarek. Our class meeting on Saturday, which concentrated on raising money for the College and the '62 Faculty Fellowship, was well attended by the likes of Tom, Gene Gasbarro, Cary Clark, John Clark, Chuck Cohen, Tom Cutter, Kent Hutchinson, Bernie Jacobs, Hugh Johnson, John Knight, Gordy McKean, Al Rapoport, Dan Tompkins, Bill Whaley, and Gordy Williamson. At our traditional class dinner that night, catered by the Lyme Inn chef, most of the above showed up with family plus Wes and Terry Guylay, Dick and Joan Hannah, Bob and Magda Katz, Josh and Karen Rich, Bob and Barbara Sprafikin, Ben and Renee Vogel, and John and Nancy Walters. See what you missed? Make it next year.

One member of the class of 1995 who joined us for dinner deserves special recognition as do his parents. James Budd is the youngest son of Charlie Budd, who, with some assistance from his wife, Sue, has produced three sons for Dartmouth. James, a cross-country runner, joins his brothers Charles Jr. '91 and David '92 in the Hanover experience. When not making out tuition checks, Charlie is an orthopedic surgeon in Parma, Ohio. Gee, the Budds are not fooling when they say "Dartmouth, this Budd's for you!"

The Budds don't have a monopoly on the class of 1995, however; among the '62s siring current freshmen are Carl Jaeger (Douglas), Carl Lind (Jonathan), Phil Smith (Deborah), Bill Stern (Daniel), and Jeff Urstadt (Jeffrey). Keep your fingers crossed—the last of the Giersch line is currently applying for the class of 1996. "Hey Dartmouth, this Giersch's for you!" Doesn't have the same ring, does it?

Speaking of families, I had a nice note from Brint Schorer '36, Dave Schorer's father, who claims to be Dartmouth's only six-year cheerleader. (John Schifftnan take note!) After several years in the embrace of the U.S. Air Force, Dave joined the Foreign Service and has served in Thailand, Moscow, Leningrad (read St. Petersburg), Turkey, Rome, and presendy is posted in the most dangerous of all missions, Washington, D.C. The elder Schorer expects Dave to head off to Norway next year for a three-year hitch. Dave and his wife, Lonnie, have three children, Scott '90, Kimberly, and Kristen. The girls are both at Rollins College (read Thad Seymour). Scott is now in the warm embrace of the U.S. Army at Ft Benning and is a hopeful for the 1992 U.S. Olympic heavyweight crew.

One final note: Tony Roth is now Bill Roth, and has been since we graduated (I never knew where "Tony" came from anyway). Any other changes in name, sex, marital status, or vocation should be forwarded posthaste to Gordy Williamson or your aging secretary.
