Ron Snow, Dave Bradley, and Walt Vail are serving as the nominating committee for our executive committee. Ron has written to say that he and his committee "would be delighted to hear from any classmates who are interested in serving on the executive committee." Our new executive committee will begin its work following our 35th Reunion, June 15-18,1992. In addition, the nominating committee is charged with bringing to the spring meeting of our executive committee nominees for the offices of president, secretary, treasurer, and alumni council representative. New blood is always a welcome infusion into the life of the committee. Meetings are twice a year in Hanover, fall and spring. Give Run, Dave, or Walt a call.

It is not too late to plan to attend our 35th Reunion. Dick Jacob and his committee continue to work on putting together a first-rate event. Get your registration in today.

Charlie Pierce showed me a copy of a new book by Bob Luyster and co-author Mary Pat Fisher. Entitled Living Religions, the book is a survey of the various religions which are being practiced today around the world. What with the resurgence of religion in public life from Iran to Russia, from Algeria to the United States, you might want to add this to your book list for early spring reading.

Out in the beautiful state of Washington, Harv Wilson is now the president of the Dartmouth Club of Western Washington. He wrote, "These are interesting times to be in- volved in Alumni Club work, and the experience is made rewarding by the efforts and assistance of a lot of good people." When you happen to be in Olympia, give Harv a call.

Class President John Graf is working on establishing a class of 1958 scholarship fund for those of us who will be contributing at modest levels to the "Campaign to Excel." John hopes that the fund might amount to anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000. scholarships for future students will continue to be a critical element in the maintenance of a strong and excellent student body at the College.

A friend of mine recently sent me an Associated Press article entitled, "Dartmouth Revives Mission as American school," which appeared in the Easton (Penn.) Express-Times. Writer Margaret Lillard wrote, "The school's aggressive recruitment and retention efforts have drawn more American Indians to Dartmouth than to all the other Ivy League schools combined. This year the group makes up three percent of the student body and has a graduation rate of 75 percent to 80 percentfar above the national average of ten percent for non-tribal, post-secondary schools." Truly, this is an instance of Dartmouth excelling.

I am writing this in January on a balmy day in New York City. It's 62 degrees! Feels like the Caribbean. Take a moment now to send me news of you and our classmates.
