A couple of job moves, a promotion and a new publication highlight the news of '62s this month. Dave Armstrong recently left his position as senior VP and general counsel at Midway Airlines to become a partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Ginsburg, Feldman & Bress. Dave and his wife, Muriel, had been living in suburban Chicago.

Sun Life of Canada recently announced the formation of Sun Capital Advisors Inc. with our own Peter Norstrand as managing director. Based in Boston, the new firm will act as fiduciaries to real-estate investors. Peter was previously an attorney with the real-estate investments firm of Aldrich, Eastman & Waltch, also located in what Click and Clack (the Tappet Brothers) call "our fair city."

Still in the investment mode, Sanwa-BGK Securities Co. of New York City recently had the good sense to name John Knight a copresident. Owned by Japan's Sanwa Bank Ltd., the firm is one of an elite group of 40 firms that trade directly with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York when it buys and sells U.S. government securities. John was a senior managing director before this move.

In an newly published earth science textbook, David Laing argues for investment of a different kind: a better understanding of Earth and Nature. David authored The Earth System: An Introduction to Earth Sciences not only to teach the basics of Earth's environment but to change the concept that man has domination over nature. David's key point: if humans are to survive, "we have to adjust to the realities of the planet, not the other way around. The planet is the ultimate arbiter." David currently lives in Wilder, Vt., is researching old growth forests at Dartmouth, and plans to teach a geology course at Community College of Vermont this spring.

One of the sad realities of nature is the loss of classmates. Paul Armstrong died on November 18 in California. Our thoughts are with his wife, Nancy, and children Jesse and Cairon. A full obituary will appear in a future Alumni Magazine issue.
