Carnival is over, and we miss the Grinch in the center of (campus. The student sculptors did a great job, and Dr. Seuss would surely have been pleased.
The New Hampshire primary is also over, and Hanover is back to normal after an onslaught of candidates. They all came, except the President. However, Barbara Bush was here.

Fran and Charlie Dudley and Dick Black recently attended a memorial service in Rollins Chapel for Jim Loeb, who died in January.
We were sad to learn of Doris Michael's death. She was the widow of Karl Michael, and we were fairly close neighbors here on the Hanover/Lebanon border. Did you all know that Paul Tsongas '62 refers to Karl as his Dartmouth mentor? Now we know where that "butterfly" in the Tsongas ad came from, and who was the coach. Quite some time ago die swimming pool at Dartmouth was named the Karl Michael Pool.
